Eight teams from two conferences and from five different states from around the country will head towards the Grand Canyon University campus this coming weekend for the 2024 Collegiate Rugby Association of America Playoffs. The Women's Division 1 Round of 8 single-elimination tournament will commence at 9AM with the first of four matches this Friday, April 19. The four winners of Friday's matchups will advance to Sunday's final two matches, which will be played at 9AM and 11AM. All matches will be played at
GCU Soccer Stadium.

Grand Canyon University Women's Rugby squad is seeded #1 after finishing a perfect 7-0 in Pacific Desert Region Conference play this season, and will battle the 3
rd seed from the Pacific Mountain Region Conference, the University of California (Berkeley), for their semifinal action Friday at 1PM. The Lopes are one of four top seeds from four different conferences represented at the tournament, with Western Washington University (PMRC), University of Florida (Florida Conference) and the University of Virginia (Carolinas Conference). The rest of the field comes from the PDRC (#2 seed Arizona State University and 3
rd-seeded Claremont Mesa College) and the PRMC (2
nd-seeded Stanford University). The winners of Sunday's matches will receive automatic bids to the 2024 CRAA Women's National Tournament in Houston, Texas, beginning May 4.
GCU came within a win of reaching nationals in 2022 before finishing 3
rd in last year's tournament, and their Friday matchup is a rematch of last year's 3
rd-place match, which saw the Lopes handle Cal, 46-12.
