GCU Club Sports is seeking multiple student interns for the 2026-27 academic year. Interns must be able to have a semi-flexible schedule and are responsible for assisting with a variety of different roles in the both the Club Sports Offices and on game days. The offices are located in the CAC building next to the weight room.

GCU Men’s Ice Hockey Internship Positions

Marketing, Game-Day Operations, Revenue, and Content Team

GCU Men’s Ice Hockey is seeking motivated, reliable, and team-oriented interns to support game-day operations, fan experience, revenue growth, community outreach, and digital content throughout the season. These roles are designed for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in sports management, event operations, marketing, media, ticketing, partnerships, and collegiate athletics.

Fan Experience Intern 

Open Positions: 1

Position Summary: Create an energetic atmosphere to engage fans and the student section throughout the game. Plan promotions, themes, giveaways, and overall in-arena entertainment. This role will work closely with game day staff to have everything prepared and ready. 

Responsibilities: Support game day promotions, fan engagement, themed events, giveaways, and in game entertainment as well as helping staff keep activities organized and on schedule. They will also contribute creative ideas and feedback to improve the overall fan experience.

Qualifications: Candidates should be outgoing, energetic, and comfortable engaging with a variety of fans and guests. Strong communication and adaptability skills are required. Applicants should have an interest in sports entertainment, event planning and must be reliable and available for home games, including nights and weekends. Must be willing to take direction, work collaboratively, and assist wherever needed on game day.

On-Ice Promotions Intern 

Open Positions: 1

Position Summary: Create exciting on-ice contests, intermission activities, and sponsored promotions during GCU Men’s Ice Hockey home games. This role will work closely with game-day staff to ensure each promotion is organized, safe, engaging, and completed on schedule.

Responsibilities: Support the preparation and execution of on-ice contests, sponsored promotions, and intermission entertainment. The intern will organize participants, equipment, prizes, signage, and instructions. They will also assist with setup, breakdown, inventory, and provide feedback to improve future promotions.

Qualifications: Candidates should have strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced live event environment and able to follow strict timelines. Candidates should work professionally with participants, fans, sponsors, volunteers, and staff. Reliable availability for home games, including nights and weekends, is required. 

Community Relations Intern 

Open Positions: 1

Position Summary: Set up events with local organizations to build relations and outreach. Such as hockey youth initiatives, alumni engagement, partnerships, special events, and recognition at home games. 

Responsibilities: Assist with youth hockey outreach, including group attendance, special experiences, and involvement with the game. They will support alumni engagement efforts, special recognition opportunities, community partnerships, honorary puck drops, youth team experiences, and special guest programming. Communicate with participating organizations and guests before, during, and after events. This role will work with fan experience, revenue, content, and operations staff to promote community initiatives and identify new opportunities to connect GCU Hockey with local organizations and supporters.

Qualifications: Candidates should have strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Applicants must be professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable representing GCU Men’s Ice Hockey to community members, alumni, youth groups, and special guests. Reliable availability for home games, community events, and special programs is required. Interest in community relations, public relations, youth sports, sports management, alumni engagement, or event planning is preferred.

Videography Intern 

Open Positions: 1

Position Summary: Create video content for GCU Men’s Ice Hockey across social media. This role will capture and edit game action, player features, practices, behind the scenes footage, promotional campaigns, and storytelling content throughout the season.

Responsibilities: Film game day action, practices, team events, player features, and behind the scenes moments. Assist with highlight clips, hype videos, sponsor content, and program storytelling projects. They will organize raw footage, project files, and completed videos to maintain an efficient workflow. 

Qualifications: Candidates should have experience filming and editing video content for social media, athletics, or other digital platforms. Familiarity with video-editing software is preferred. Applicants should demonstrate strong visual storytelling abilities. Reliable availability for home games, events, practices, and occasional team activities is required. 

Social Media Assistant

Open Positions: 1

Position Summary: The Social Media Assistant will support GCU Men’s Ice Hockey’s D1 and D2 social media. This role will be task based from week to week, with responsibilities changing depending on the current needs of the program. Assistants may work on graphic design, recruiting content, social media posts, promotions, and other digital media projects throughout the season.

Responsibilities: Complete weekly social media objectives, create graphics, scoring updates, final scores, announcements, recruiting, commitment posts, player features, and community outreach. Work closely with the social media lead, photographers, videographers, and other marketing staff to gather and create content while assisting with additional social media and marketing projects throughout the season.

Qualifications: Strong understanding of social media and digital content. Candidates should have a creative mindset and an interest in sports marketing. Experience with editing platforms is preferred, along with strong communication, organization, and attention to detail. Applicants must be reliable, able to complete weekly assignments on time, accept feedback, and make edits quickly. Photography, videography, graphic design, or social media experience is preferred but not required.
