What We Do

The mission of the Grand Canyon University Club Sports Medicine team is to provide the highest quality of health care possible while maintaining a safe environment in which the GCU Club Sports student-athletes will perform. Our sports medicine team utilizes the most advanced, research-based therapeutic techniques available in the realm of sports medicine. Every effort is made to ensure an optimum state of physical, emotional and mental health, preparing each club student-athlete to excel in club sports and beyond.

Club Sports Student-Athlete Registration and Medical Clearance

The following tasks MUST be completed before a student-athlete is cleared by the club sports staff to participate in practice or competition.

  • Healthy Roster: This is our electronic medical record-keeping service utilized by our athletic training staff for clearance and participation. Healthy Roster onboarding instructions here!
    • Students will get an email prompt prior to the start date of their season from our athletic training team to create account
      • Upload completed physical
      • Upload front and back of insurance card
      • Complete Healthy Roster waivers and consent forms
  • Physicals: Print the club sports physical form and have a physician complete it. Hold on to this document until our Healthy Roster platform is ready for use.
  • Acknowledging Waivers: Once it’s ready, you will log in to your Healthy Roster profile and complete the consent forms.
  • Insurance Card: Once our Healthy Roster platform is ready, you must upload a CLEAR picture of the front and back of your primary insurance card on your Healthy Roster profile.
  • Baseline Concussion Test: Baseline concussion tests are used to assist the athletic training staff in the event a student-athlete suffers from a concussion and are required for the following sports. These will be organized and completed by our coaches and athletic training staff. Please review our concussion plan and fact sheet.

*Club sports are not regulated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and do not have varsity status at the intercollegiate athletic level. However, club sports are organized and administered by their respective national sport governing body.
