He spent three years as one of GCU Club Archery's top performers. Three years ago, he moved up to be the team’s student head coach. Fletcher Bennett now heads into his second full year as head coach of the program after graduating.

Bennett has been an athlete in various sports throughout his youth. A native of Chico in northern California, Bennett was a four-sport athlete at Mercy High School in Red Bluff, playing on the Warriors’ basketball, tennis, swimming, and track & field teams. While balancing all of that, Bennett also trained in kenpo, and was a teacher at his dojo. The love of archery came along right after he graduated from Mercy when he taught the sport at a summer camp, and was hooked from then on, becoming more skilled each year at the sport while a member of the Lopes’ team. He punctuated that in 2022 when he placed 4th at the Vegas Shoot in the Collegiate Bowhunter Division and finished off his college career with a top-20 finish last spring.

Bennett graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from GCU while minoring in both Database Application Programming and Business Analytics. Bennett works in GCU’s IT department and plans to stay in Phoenix to work on earning technical certifications in the IT field.
