NCSA World Series Appearances
2017

Lindsey Collins remains one of the longer-tenured club sports head coaches as she commences her 10th year at the helm of the GCU Club Softball program, leading the Lopes to one NCSA National Tournament berth and 3rd-place finish.

To say Collins knows what being on a national college stage is all about is a tremendous understatement. She attended the University of Arizona from 1998 to 2001. During her senior season, not only was Collins the starting catcher for the Wildcats’ Women’s College World Series championship team, she hit the home run that made the difference in Arizona’s 1-0 win over UCLA to win the national title. Collins was an NCAA All-American, and started playing on the USA National Team at age 15. After college, she turned pro, playing two years in the National Pro Fastpitch League, and led the New York/New Jersey Juggernauts to a NPFL World Series Title in her second year with the team.

Collins graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in sociology, and continued her education by receiving a special education teaching certificate. She also has earned a Master’s degree in education from the University of Phoenix. She currently teaches special education at North Canyon High School in the Paradise Valley Unified School District, and has two children, Carter and Cali.
