Hannah Bolton

Hannah Bolton begins her sixth year as head coach of women’s club soccer at GCU. Bolton is a study in climbing the ladder through hard work, since she started with the club program as a student-athlete, became a student coach, then a head coach for not one, but two different club sports programs. Bolton has also worked for GCU in other capacities helping with club sports enrollment.

Bolton is originally from Junction City, Oregon, and graduated Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise and Sports Performance and also earned her Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Business from GCU as well.

Bolton comes from a strong athletic and coaching background. Bolton grew up playing club soccer for the Eugene Timbers FC, where she later returned to coach youth teams ranging from U-11 to U-16 from 2014-16. As a freshman, Bolton attended Portland State University where she ran cross country and track for 2013-14 season. Bolton then attended Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon, playing soccer for the Titans for 2014-15 seasons. During her time at LCC, Bolton was captain on the squad that won the Northwest Athletic Conference Southern Region Championships in 2015.

After her time at the community college level, Bolton transferred to GCU in 2016, where she played and coached for the GCU Women’s Club Soccer program from 2016 through 2018. Bolton’s playing career did not end there, since she played in the inaugural season for FC Arizona’s WPSL semi-professional league and earned accolades as the first WPSL West Region All-Conference Team player for the club in 2019. Bolton’s coaching experiences in Arizona range from coaching youth soccer for Phoenix Rising FC to serving as the varsity assistant coach for Hamilton High School, helping lead them to a 2nd place finish in the Arizona 6A State Championships in 2020. Hannah also completed her U.S. Soccer National D Coaching License.
