Grand Canyon University has announced that the women's hockey games between
GCU Women's Hockey and Colorado State University – scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, November 18 and 19 at
AZ Ice Arcadia – have been officially postponed.
GCU officials were notified late this afternoon by Rams' coaches that both COVID-19 and the flu has befelled enough players and staff on the team to prevent the squad from making their scheduled trip to the Valley of the Sun. CSU was scheduled to play both the Lopes and Arizona State University for a total of four games before returning to the Centennial State on Sunday. Both GCU and CSU are working to try to find reschedule dates suitable for both teams' schedules, but no dates have been ironed out.
For the moment, the postponements finish off the 2022 side of the Lopes' 2022-23 regular season schedule. Their next game is scheduled for after the semester break on Friday, January 13, when the Lopes will take on the University of Michigan at the Ice Den in Scottsdale. The Lopes finish out the calendar year with a 6-5 record.
