Bakersfield, CA - July 14, 2025 – After qualifying for the postseason with a strong spring campaign, the Grand Canyon University Men's Ultimate team capped off a strong 2024–25 season with an 8^th-place finish at the 2025 USA Ultimate Southwest Division I Regional Tournament in Bakersfield, California.
 
The Lopes opened with a 12–7 win over San Diego State University before falling to California Polytechnic University, 15–5, in their final pool play match. An 11-10 victory over the University of Southern California in the crossover round cemented the Lopes as the 8^th seed in the championship bracket, where they then lost to the University of California Santa Cruz, 15-9, in the quarterfinals.
 
On Sunday, GCU came up just short against UC San Diego, 15-14, in their first match in the 3^rd-place bracket, before falling to Stanford, 15–5, in the 7th-place game.
 
The Lopes finished the weekend with a 2–4 record, bringing their overall 2024-25 season mark to 17–9, including tournament titles at the Canyon Classic and the Desert D-I Conference Championships.
