Â
GCU's Welcome Week has exploded upon the GCU campus, which means the excitement about a new year of GCU Club Sports is raising to a fever pitch as well.
Here's a few reminders, calendar items and helpful resources over the next few days and weeks to keep you aware and in tune with what club sports is all about and what we offer:
Â
Welcome Week Tabling
Â
GCU Club Sports will join with other Student Affairs departments to give prospective student-athletes a chance to find out about the various club sports. They can stop by the Club Sports Table during Welcome Week Tabling at the Promenade in the middle of the main campus. Club Sports coaches and staff will man the table from 10AM until noon Monday through Thursday of Welcome Week (August 25-28).
Â
GCU Club Fair
Â
For the second straight year, the annual GCU Club Fair will be held at the end of Welcome Week on Friday, August 29 from 10AM to 1PM. All 43 club sports will be represented as the entire Canyon Activity Center is expected to fill up with every club on campus offering what they do. Prospective student-athletes will also be able to access a QR code to find out more information about their sport.
Â
Informational Meetings
Â
Each club sport will hold an informational meeting during the first couple of weeks of the fall semester. Men's and Women's Hockey as well as Club Golf are holding their meetings this week, while most will hold them during the first week of school. The meetings are 30-45 minutes in length, are free to attend, and designed to give those that are interested more in-depth information about schedules, practices and team philosophies, as well as a way for everyone to sign up for the sport if they wish right at the meeting. The schedule of informational meetings can be accessed
here.
Â
